Terms of Use Update – June 2025: All You Need to Know

    We’ve updated our Terms of Use to reflect improvements to our platform, tools, and policies. These changes help us stay transparent, support new features, and ensure clarity for both captains and customers.

    What’s changing?

    The updated Terms include revisions to:

    These updates took effect on June 16, 2025 for all new users. For existing captains, they’ll apply starting July 19, 2025.


    Here's what's new in each section of our Terms:

    General Terms

    • Expanded the definitions section for greater clarity.
    • Added references to new payment models.
    • Clarified how our smart ranking system works and added details to the ranking disclaimer.

    Payment Terms

    • Introduced new payment models to give captains more flexibility.
    • Broadened and clarified explanations around how payments work.
    • Added support for tipping captains through the platform and paying the remaining balance online.
    • Explained how deposits function and clarified fee structures.
    • Addressed misunderstandings around the “$” symbol.
    • Added references to our Loyalty Program for customers.
    • Switched to a new payment processor.

    Privacy Policy and GDPR Privacy Notice

    • Updated contact information and processes in our Privacy Policy.
    • Introduced a California Privacy Notice for residents of California.

    Customer-Specific Terms

    • Clarified our approach to insurance and safety.
    • Updated the cancellation and booking change policy to reflect new payment models.
    • Linked to the updated Refund Policy.
    • Introduced the Booking Buddies feature and outlined how it works.

    Vendor-Specific Terms

    • Enhanced the credential verification section for captains.
    • Added a new section for USA-based captains about NOAA compliance.
    • Clarified insurance expectations for captains.
    • Included updates to reflect our new payment models.
    • Added guidance on ensuring boat information is accurate and up to date.

    Refund Policy

    • Expanded the Extenuating Circumstances policy into a broader, more detailed Refund Policy.
    • Aligned cancellation and refund terms with the new payment models.
    • Added a section on handling fraudulent transactions and disputes.

    Online Payment Model Agreement

    • Updated to reflect the terms of the new payment models.

    What This Means for You

    If you're a new user (joined after June 16, 2025), the updated Terms already apply.

    If you're an existing partner (Vendor), these changes go into effect on July 19, 2025. Until then, you can review the previous version on the Terms of Use page.

    These changes apply to all bookings made through FishingBooker, including existing, confirmed trips.
